The Bangladesh Australia Association Canberra, Inc is an integral part of the Canberra multicultural community representing Canberrans of Bangladeshi origin. For more than two decades the Association has been a strong participant in Canberra’s multicultural life and has actively promoted cultural diversity and harmony in the Canberra community.

The Association’s yearly calendar of event includes celebrations of Bangladeshi national holidays as well as picnics, barbeques and other social gatherings. In addition to a regular schedule of events, the Association also sponsors the Bangla Language and Cultural School and Bangla Radio.

The Association is a not for profit organisation funded mainly through yearly membership subscriptions and occasional grants from the ACT Government. Administrative responsibility for the Association is rotated amongst community members on a financial year basis.

Bangladesh Islamic Centre of NSW Inc.

Bangladesh Society for Puja and Culture Inc is a community based non-profit organisation established in 1996 under the Associations Incorporation Act 1984. The main objective of the Society is to provide a platform for its members to practice cultural and religious activities within the community and promote awareness to the wider multi-cultural Australian society.

In early 1995, a few young members felt the need for such a platform for the small community of Bangladeshi Hindu residing in Sydney and its surrounding. They started celebrating Saraswati and Durga Puja, and regular community gatherings. This has formed the basis of formation of the Society with the motto "Working together for our culture and values".

The Society is run by an executive committee of 11 members, elected each year as per the Constitution of the Society.

In addition to sporting, cultural and religious activities, the Society runs a community school for language, literature, music and dance.

In achieving our objectives, we will work together:

· to put the community first;
· to respect people & their views;
· to care for others; and
· to excel in ethical actions.
